Illustrator Journal #17: Working on a Request and other things…

I have a request from a friend to design a logo and facebook wall piece for her new shop, “Shrinking Violet” and while I’m working hard on designing sketches, it’s taking longer than I though and I shall upload the final pieces (and all the photos of the design stages) in a later post.

Sorry the post is relatively short, but I’ll see you tomorrow :3

Illustrator Journal #6: Murray Walker Commission

Continuing on from my last journal entry, just sketching out some designs so I’m sure of how I want to continue through with this. I’ve been given the green light on my design, but I just want to show you some of the work.

Forgive the brightness, that’s a fault on my part and my scanner… Plus I don’t want to reveal TOO many details :P. Half clown, half machine, Murray Walker has become obsessed with technology as he’s becoming the machine he craves as a tool for psychological and horrifying deeds.

Labelling Myself – Part 1

This is an art assignment for my Art Foundation course that was given to me to complete over the summer. I was to complete this in the summer and have it ready for when I go back to college in September.
So, I was given a brown luggage tag and told to use it in a creative way to portray myself and my personality. The final piece has to be creative and/or functional and we could do what we like to it. For me, I have decided to turn it into a book, using the tag as the backing binder and finding 2 pieces of cardboard to use as the backs. It’ll contain a plethora of illustrations about me and the things around me :).

This is obviously the first part, being the startup and crafting. Part 2 will include designs and the rest of the crafting, as well as the final piece.
So I took some photos to show you:
